Vilamoura Marina in Vilamoura on the Algarve coast. The Marina at Vilamoura is a must place to visit if you are holidaying in the Algarve. Situated in the center of Vilamoura itself it is quite easy to find. From the one way system that runs through Vilamoura simply take any of the walkways between the shops and head down to the marina. The Marina itself is filled with yacht´s, boats and schooners moored in wait for their rich owners to take them out to sea. During the winter months the Marina is very quite and relaxing, however come July it gets really busy and packed. August is the same until the end of the summer holidays when things get back to normal. So please be vigilant if taking children, it is not the best place to lose them!. Also be aware that during the summer months it can be very difficult to park in the center, however there are plenty of park and ride car parks on the outskirts which are free and allow for a quick exit when the night is over. The Vilamoura marina is loaded with bars, cafe´s and restaurants of every type and taste so something to suit everyone. At the far end of the marina you will find the ticket offices for the many boat excursions on offer. most are quite reasonably priced and are a great way to see the Algarve coast from a different perspective. Further along is a great kids park for those with children, keeps them busy and quite for a little while!. The best sports bars in the Vilamoura Marina are Figo´s, O´Neils and the Irish Cabin. For those who prefer things a little more lively the 19th hole and Atlantic Bar both get quite busy and have good entertainment most evenings. Of the restaurants The News Cafe does a great breakfast for around 4 euros including tea or coffee. For night time meals the Fairways restaurant and the 19th hole both do good reasonably priced meals as does Don Torro and just across the road the Petunia Cafe. If you are just looking for a snack good old Macdonalds can be found on the one way system about 100 yards from the marina itself, I can also recommend both the Romarina cafe and Cafe Vila for light meals and snacks. The Falesia beach can be found just behind the Tivoli Hotel so if you wish to make a day out from your visit to Vilamoura Marina there are plenty of things to do. if you are feeling really extravagant why not take a champagne cruise down the coast on your own private luxury cruiser for 4 hours! Priced around 120 euros for eight its a great way to forget all the problems back home!. The Vilamoura Marina has been revamped over the last year or so, so even if you have been before it is still worth a visit to see the new esplanade they have built over the edge of the marina to give more space for the bars and restaurants.
