The Praia de Altura is home to one of the most spectacular beaches in the world. With a seemingly endless stretch of shimmering white sand and crystal clear deep blue sea that extends right up to the far horizon. It boasts being one of the largest beaches, spanning for over 600 meters and has really beautiful sites that you can watch from the comfort of your hotel resort with a cool breeze blowing. The beach is supervised by life guards during the bathing season and there is also plenty of parking available. It can be found near a small town of the same name Altura in between the beaches of Praia Verde and Praia da Lota. There’s plenty to do at this beautiful beach for water sports lovers, Praia de Altura beach offers plenty of activities including snorkeling, jet skiing, wind surfing, water skiing and scuba diving and is one of the hidden gems of Algarve, in Portugal.

Another famous beach in the Algarve is the Meia Praia whose name when translated to English means half praia indicating its distance from lagos. Due to its geographical location, this beach is popular for surfing and a good attraction for holiday wind surfers. It is not hard getting to this beach as there is a tarmac road and it is signposted. In addition to that, there is ample parking space near the beach with attractive sport facilities and restaurants. One of the famous beaches in the Algarve is the Praia de Mareta, located in Sarges. Also along the Bay of Baleeira near Sagres, is Praia do Martinhal. This is a relatively small beach with a shallowly bay. This beach is good for wind surfing and diving as the waters are calm and the area is fairly windy. The beach is home to magnificent views of the beautiful limestone islets using boat rides. You can reach this beach on foot from the major tourist resort located there. The tarmac road that passes through Martinhal beach resort in Sagres can also be used to get to Praia do Martinhal and you can take advantage of the large parking area.

Praia da Luz is also a remarkable site to visit. It has a cosmopolitan small seaside resort, with large palm trees and an extensive rock pattern. The rock patterns form an amazing site coupled with the fossil marine life and the carpet of green algae. The bay is a common spot for watersports including sailing, diving and wind surfing.
